Sculpture and found objects is the art of transforming raw or discarded material into fantastic imaginative art pieces. What found objects and recycled materials can transform into a city block? From towering architecture filled with robot-citizens to wild alien plants, we will draw inspiration from Douglas Coupland’s Future City to create our own individual city blocks of sculpture that become a whole cityscape.
Next up we will talk about found and created objects as art collections, creating out own modern Curiosity Cabinets. Make your own wild Sculpey animal to feature in your Curiosity Cabinet! Create a tiny set of books to fill its shelves! Add in magic objects contained in tiny glass jars! We will be writing descriptions of our individual collections and adding them to the back of every Cabinet of Curiosities.
