Granulation refers to an effect in watercolour paints where un-even pigment is visible on the page and is often used to create texture in paintings. Supergranulating colours are a combination of at least two granulating pigments, which intensifies this separation of pigment. Mixing colours from different colour ranges also results in an additional colour shift as part of the granulation effect. The more water you use and the rougher your paper, the stronger the granulation.
