On Your Mark: Drawing & Painting with Inventive Tools with Loree Ovens

Remove any artistic blocks and get inspired by mark making! Learn to make your own tools & explore
their possibilities. See how unconventional techniques can add energy to your artistic practice. We will
work on both washi and western paper. Everything is provided but if you have a favourite tool, bring it
to share with the class!
Students: please bring a folder to take home the works.
About Loree
Loree Ovens is a visual artist working in a variety of media including a wide range of printmaking techniques. Her specialties include etching, collagraph, drypoint, relief and screen. Her background in craft and textiles has led her to produce encaustic, sculptural and metal work. Loree is also known for her use of washi (handmade Japanese paper).
She enjoys teaching all ages & skill levels.
Loree’s work has been shown in national and international exhibitions in Canada, Japan, United States, Taiwan, Australia and Scotland. Her work is part of both private and public collections including the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, Art Gallery of New South Wales, National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Australia and SGC International.
Loree Ovens is a member of Propeller Gallery and Open Studio in Toronto.

All ARTiculations workshops require advance registration, unless otherwise noted. In the event of insufficient enrolment, registrants will be notified prior to the workshop start date and a full refund will be given. No refunds/credits will be provided for withdrawal fewer than five business days prior to the start of class. ARTiculations does not provide make-up classes or substitutions. This policy is subject to change without notice.
