Maggie Flynn is a multidisciplinary artist, teacher and curator. Recent solo performances include News Commutes at the Rhubarb Festival and Funetics at Don Blanche 2011. With her current collective, Tongue & Groove, she has exhibited at Board of Directors, XPACE, and Whippersnapper. Curatorial works include the independent project Eat, Sleep Breathe (and Shit) and The Pitch, a performative panel discussion at The White House. She has recently joined the Board of Directors at Whippersnapper Gallery.
Maggie is also dedicated to community arts and alternative education practices. She currently works at Creative Works Studio, an outreach program of St. Michael’s hospital for adults living with mental illness. There she is excited to be facilitating a bookbinding and screen print program. Her understanding of critical pedagogy has been shaped by her involvement with groups such as Working Women Community Centres, Centro de Intercambio y Solidaridad (San Salvador, El Salvador), Winters Community Art Club, and the Anarchist Free University. maggieflynn.ca
