WINDOW VITRINE : Finn O’Donnell
Tuesday December 17th 2019 to Saturday February 29th 2020
Just a few doors down the street, there used to be a cinema. Not a small
cinema, either. An 800 seat cinema with a balcony and a marble lobby. It
opened in 1913 as a theatre. Ran for years as a movie house. Closed in
1961. The building got torn down sometime later.
Buildings exist to shelter us. To provide places for us to live and work
and play. I have selected a few local buildings that I find visually
interesting. Who has lived and worked and played in these buildings?
What role did they play in shaping the character of the Junction? Who
will remember them when they are gone?
