SUMMER ART CAMP | SESSION 4 : Installation Art (8-13yrs)
Monday August 21st 2017 to Friday August 25th 2017
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Price: $ 345.00 CAD
This workshop intensive will provide a survey of five materials combining specific techniques with experimental approaches to making. Working at both small and large scale we will look at exploration and process as an essential part of making a “finished work.” We will build our own installations while looking at contemporary artists using innovative methods to make large-scale works. This course is a great opportunity for students looking to build a portfolio as well as for students looking to explore a range of artistic methods.
Artist Instructors: Amanda McCavour & Heather Phillips
Our schedule consists of daily sketching exercises with experimental materials, 2hr morning and afternoon studio sessions, and various outdoor activities. We believe an important part of the artistic process is having a good mental and physical balance. Each day we will be going outside (weather permitting) to experience our neighbourhood and how it can inspire creativity! Our camp takes place in our ARTiculations Second Floor Studio. In addition to our home base we also use our neighbourhood, frequenting local galleries and parks.
We finish each week with a gallery show hung by the artists themselves!
